RE: [alternativeenergy-179] New ideas for this meetup group.

From: Daniel D.

In regards to politics and green energy, I’m going to interject something that’s very important to me – because I’m a constitution loving patriot.  Texas is the most powerful state in the union to keep Washington in check and in line with 10th amendment state’s rights.  No matter what’s happening with economy, energy, etc……  the constitution and it’s ability to rule is most important as far as I’m concerned.  Bottom line – Texas has sovereign ability to pull out of the union if the feds get too aggressive against the states in trying to control them.  It’s clear that Washington has NO respect for the constitution, and has NO intentions of upholding it – period.  Therefore, it’s the governor of Texas responsibility to wield the sword of power and remind Washington of Texas’ ability to secede from the union if the constitution is violated, or feds demand that Texans submit to a policy that’s not good for Texas.  This includes everything from energy demands to unreasonable healthcare demands that could bankrupt the state to gun confiscation.  Our governor needs to be willing to wield the secession sword.  This would be a tough call, but in these extreme days – to preserve freedom and the constitution, Texas may have to lead the way against a runaway fed.

I know that Rick Perry is willing to pull this trigger as he’s stated it in the past years and he’s serious about it.  I also am confident that Kay Bailey Hutchinson is a Washington infected implant that will castrate Texas’ ability to force the fed into compliance with the constitution.  She will castrate this state and turn it into a submissive puppy dog if she gets into office.

I don’t see any other candidates personally that are willing to stand tough for Texas and who are publicly willing to exercise Texas’ great authority over the fed, as given in 10th amendment of constitution, other than Perry.   We can’t afford to lose Texas – as the entire nation is dependent on Texas to do what’s right.  If we lose Texas and/or the constitution, you can forget going green with anything.  Our projects are finished.  Capitalism – which literally means “THE RIGHT TO OWN LAND” will be destroyed and the state/fed will own your land and tell you what to do with it while it taxes you like an old testament Israelite slave building Pharaoh’s sand castles.  You might have a solar panel on the house, but you won’t be able to afford the tax from the sun god that provides your electricity if the feds get their way.

Whatever you do, keep the 10th amendment in mind and realize that the next 4 – 8 years are going to include power plays over your U.S. sovereignty as a citizen, with certain inalienable rights that were given by God.  God is not subject to tyranny and He has given these rights to us because we are made in His image.  We should never give up these rights for anyone, anything or any political party – period.  With these rights, our RIGHT TO OWN LAND will allow us to develop these green technologies that we’re talking about, and will allow us to build with freedom, whatever kind of green technology homes we want to build, without regulation, taxation, control and tyranny.

I stand for Texas and her sovereign ability to keep the fed in check.

Sincerely,

Dr. Daniel Daves

I agree Rick Perry needs to go.  If we really what change then politics as usual has to go and it starts with getting the politics that want to be in their seats for life out of office.  The same for Kay Bailey Hutchison.  They need to realize that they have a limited time in office, and they need to listen to the people that put them there.  There is no better way to say that then with new faces, and to keep the companies that want to do the behind door deals quessing about who will be in office the next election.

Quoting Will:  " If this group is about spreading awareness w/ the ultimate goal of wide scale progressive change"

To politic or not to politic, that is the question.

I have to qualify that I joined the group to get information on the best options for independent energy production and a strong interest in the kind of distributed processing and community-based solutions that make everybody more secure and productive.  That does not include any interest in government-based solutions.

The old saying goes, "Those who desire their 'day in court' have obviously never been there."  The same applies to legislatures.  I have personally made numerous trips to DC to pepper my representatives' desks with information pertinent to my causes and interests; been to Austin numerous times and even spoken before both Senate and Representatives.  I might add:  To no avail.  The best backhanded compliment I've received is to have certain local representatives cross the Austin hallways to walk as far away from me as possible because they know that I know how deep they are in the pockets of the corporate feeding trough.

My heroes are people like Hank Gilbert of Texas TURF who stopped Rick Perry's plans for the Trans Texas Corridors dead in their tracks through focused legal research into finding and implementing regional planning committees that legally take precedent and supersede Perry's desire to turn Texas into a Disneyland park of toll roads owned and operated by foreign interests.  Perry's reply?  "That's okay, we'll just do it incrementally," which he is proceeding with.  It is time for Rick Perry to go.  Kay Bailey Hutchison serves the same corporate interests.  Bill White will sell y'all down the same stream of globalist loss of Texas State sovereignty.

My research may be counter-intuitive to the liberal bias of some here, but the best option for your vote at present is Debra Medina.  Medina will do her best to keep Texas, Texas.  Perform your own due diligence.  I think you will find it to be true.  If solar is to make it securely onto the scene it is going to be through concerted localized efforts.  The national government is so deeply down the rabbit hole of monopoly corporate control, revolving doors so well oiled, that the appropriate label for all Congress critters irrespective of party is: Sell-out.  So few exceptions.

You are free to tell me I'm wrong.  My response?  You must be new.

Regards,

JG

Hi everybody,

Thought I'd throw in my two cents:

I think it's vitally important that people know how their representatives vote on issues related to Energy and Resource Conservation.  And how we the people may be able to influence our representatives' decisions.  An understanding of the political environment, coupled with an understanding of the science, applications, and engineering will enable us to cast informed votes and help spread awareness to our friends, family, and colleagues.

If this group is about spreading awareness w/ the ultimate goal of wide scale progressive change, I believe ignoring the politics is a fatal flaw.  That said, I'm aware of how thorny political conversations can become. But energy and resource conservation is not like gay marriage or abortion.  I don't see how discussing our reps' positions on CO2 initiatives, RE incentives, nuclear, and mountain top removal, etc. would ruffle too many ideological feathers.  The way I see it, "discussing the politics" is simply a matter of understanding things like: What's in a certain bill and what are the ramifications?  Who voted for that bill and why?  Who received largesse from which corporate interests?  How do we best contact our reps to make our voices heard?

I'm new to the state and have hundreds of other things competing for my attention. I'd welcome information on just who is doing exactly what in my name.

Thanks for reading.

Will

Hello. Some talk about politics is OK, but I see the main objective of the group to be:

1) enabling members to explore ways to use alternative energy and sharing information toward this end

2) bonding of people with similar views on the environment and ecology.

I do have one question.  I would like to use oil burning lanterns that mount on walls.  I am worried about fire though.  How do I get around this fear, or is there a lantern that is made that address this?

I haven't had a chance to get more meetings going but things have slowed down a bit and I have a lot of new ideas. I want to open these meetings up for free but organized discussion sessions. Not really a seminar anymore but sometimes I will get some speakers in or myself. A lot of people now have gotten the information I used to teach through calling other companies in this industry, media and many other ways. I also want to get a better network going to discuss things about living off grid and not falling for all these technologies that don't benefit you and only benefit very large companies.

I will lead the discussions but I want to hear what people's concerns are about the future of our nations energy grid, the way we live, etc... I don't have all the answers on how to move things forward but I do have the skills and experience from years of being in the alternative energy business to help people paint a much better picture of the future. I also have a lot of experience and input on why this industry will make or completely break our country and it digs deeper into the surface of globalization. For instance the way things are being subsidized, foreign manufacturing and government involvement. Most of which is causing a complete crash of the renewable energy industry and will continue to do so unless we educate people.

Lets see if we can get this group a little bigger and talk more politics and educate the people who want to continue to live the old way to change or else face the consequences. Any suggestions I'm all ears! Oh and I'm going to only hold these in the Dallas metro area for now.

Regards,
Darius
