Re: [DIYBio-Vancouver] Equipment donations and needing some feedback on storage space

Thanks guys!!

I also have a fridge I can provide if we need it, among many other miscellanies.  Basically right now I just need to touch base with someone with space and maybe transportation who I can talk with and we can arrange things.  Or if you just can help and/or have transport, anything really.  If you can backchannel me at [address removed] that would be awesome (Mike if you can forward me the responses you get that would be excellent!!).

And Scott you're right!  The sooner we start using them, the sooner we'll know more about what's most useful to the group, what further things we want, and will facilitate moving into an active space of our own and/or team up (short or long term) with the VHS.

And yes I'd love to get together!  I might be in for a short-term sublet before I'm off which will give me more time - otherwise backchannel me at the mail above and let's figure something out in the next week or so.

I third the exciting times!!

Erik

Hello Michael and Erik,

I'm sorry I couldn't make it to last week's meetup as I've just returned from a trip to the Sunshine Coast with family from England. Hopefully we can have another meeting soon.

Erik, thank you for your generous donation of the lab equipment. I'm hoping we can do more than just store them. It would be great to organize some actual events that can put them to good use. I'm willing to help with planning that. Erik, I'd like to touch bases with you but see that you will be departing for other pastures. If your departure is not imminent maybe we can get together over coffee.

Exciting times indeed.

Cheers,
Scott

Hi crew,

Last meetup was great. Let me send a thank you to Erik Rzepka, who has generously donated some equipment to our group, and to Tyler Brad, who is providing some storage to keep the equipment in the short-term. Erik will be leaving for travels to the US and Europe, and pursuing new opportunities there.

The equipment includes a PCR machine, transilluminator, microscrope, water bath & shaker, and spectrophotometer. In addition, we also have reagents. Here is a link to a photoalbum:

What I would like is to assemble a census of storage space and transportation (i.e. car, truck) that we have. In addition, if you have a separate fridge to store reagents and biomaterials, that is helpful too. As more donations of supplies come in, we will need a place to store them.

Please send me an email directly at: [address removed]

This is exciting times!

Cheers,

Michael Yamashita
