Join us for our annual Photo Shoot at the world famous Getty Center in Los Angeles. This amazing complex of buildings on top of a hill overlooking Los Angeles was designed by world renowned architect Richard Meier. If you like to shoot architecture, this is easily one of the best venues in Southern California. The views are breath taking and the photo ops are amazing.

Be sure to read the entire invitation before submitting your RSVP and also be sure to look at the links provided to ensure this is something that you want to do. Please only RSVP if you are absolutely sure you can attend.

When: We will meet at the upper Monorail Station near the Getty Center Museum Entrance.

Where: 1200 Getty Center Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90049

Cost: Entrance to the Getty Center is free. The cost for parking is $15 per car all day.

How to get there: Members will have to make their own transportation arrangements to the Getty Center. The Museum opens at 10:00a.m., but the parking garage opens at 9:30a.m. and the tram up to the Getty Center begins operation at 9:30a.m. as well. The travel time from San Diego is between 2 and 2 1/2 hours depending on traffic. Be sure to plan accordingly.

Very Important: If you can drive indicate so in your RSVP. If you need a ride, indicate so as well. Once you have a ride, change your RSVP. If you can drive and your car is full change your RSVP.

The links below will give you general information, as well as a map to the Getty Center Complex and galleries of photographs that Walter took there:

The Plan: We will begin shooting at 9:45a.m. promptly. The best architectural photos are taken before many visitors arrive, we will not wait for latecomers. You have a choice of going through the Museum Complex with me, where I will guide you to the best shooting locations or on your own. We can have lunch together at the Museum Cafe at Noon. We will take the group photo at this time.

What to bring and what not to bring: Wide lenses are very good here. I have used Fisheye, 14-24mm Full Frame and 12-24mm DX lenses with good results. Bring walking shoes etc. Tripods and Monopods are not permitted. Small to medium sized backpacks can be brought inside the museum exhibit areas. Larger ones must be checked. Any questions, comments or suggestions, please contact Walter or Barbra via email. If you are late, or need to find the group while at the Getty contact me via my cell (619) 886-7893. Please only do so if you really need to.
