PyCon Preview: Realtime predictive analytics w/ scikit-learn
Details
Hi All,
The March meetup will be on Wednesday 3/19 at Sungard on North Broad Street.
Here is our agenda:
6:30 PM - 7:00 PM: Food and networking
7:00 PM - 7:20 PM: Open Source Licensing
7:20 PM - 8:15 PM: Pycon Preview: Realtime predictive analytics using scikit-learn & RabbitMQ
8:15 PM - 8:30 PM: Lightning Talks
8:30 PM: Leave for bar (book your babysitters!)
The details:
Open Source Licensing by Frank Taney
Tech/IP lawyer Frank Taney will give a short talk on issues surrounding open source software licenses. He'll provide a primer on the legal principles that govern these licenses and the business and technological effects these have on your use of open source software.
Frank is the principal of Taney Legal LLC. Among other things, his firm focuses on commercialization of technology and IP, tech startups, and tech/IP litigation and dispute resolution.
Realtime predictive analytics using scikit-learn & RabbitMQ by Michael Becker
scikit-learn is an awesome tool allowing developers with little or no machine learning knowledge to predict the future! But once you've trained a scikit-learn algorithm, what now? In this talk, Micahel will describe how to deploy a predictive model in a production environment using scikit-learn and RabbitMQ. You'll see a realtime content classification system to demonstrate this design.
Michael Becker is a Data Engineer at AWeber and founder of the DataPhilly Meetup group. On a day to day basis, he spends a majority of his time acquiring, scrubbing, exploring, and visualizing data. He loves machine learning and gets his kicks out of clustering, regression and classification algorithms.
