Happy Hour and Open House with Code for Philly
Details
Join us for an Open House night with hosted by Code for Philly! (https://www.meetup.com/Code-for-Philly/events/233988855/)
The last Tuesday of every month, Code for Philly takes a break from hacking to socialize and meet new people. These nights are designed for newcomers to the civic tech scene who want to find out more about Code for Philly. Open House nights are also a way for us to collaborate with other groups around the city doing equally cool things in the tech space.
This month we're happy that Code for Philly is hosting PhillyPUG! Meet other Python programming language enthusiasts in the Philadelphia area and hear about PhillyPUG's speaker events, project nights, workshops, and other events.
Want to learn about civic hacking and Code for Philly before coming out? Check out their website for a list of active projects (http://codeforphilly.org), join the Slack team, or reach out to us at hello@codeforphilly.org.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
• What do I need to know before showing up?
This is a casual event; you can come at any time, the schedule is just to help you know when we’re planning on giving certain talks. If you can only come for part of it, that’s okay! The night is what you make of it. You don’t need to bring anything, just show up, grab a nametag, and join a conversation.
• Who is this event for?
This event is for newcomers looking to get involved in the civic tech space, applying their expertise to helps solve social problems in Philadelphia. Sponsors that are values-aligned may support the evening and briefly speak about their work, but in general this is not an entrepreneurship/networking event. If you’re just there to recruit or looking for free help with your start-up (even if it’s an awesome socially-conscious one!), we’ll kindly ask you to leave.
• Do I need to be a coder?
No! We welcome civic hackers of all varieties. This is a social hour, we encourage newcomers to talk with people and explore where they can contribute their skills. Researchers, analysts, practitioners, designers, writers, photographers, have all contributed to Code for Philly projects and operations.
All attendees are expected to follow the Python Software Foundation's Code of Conduct:
