SeaPHP UG Meetup - MongoDB

Details
ATTENTION! This Meetup is on a Monday!
Jeremy Mikola (@jmikola (https://twitter.com/jmikola)) from MongoDB/10Gen (http://www.mongodb.com/) will be coming into town to speak to us about the MongoDB (http://www.mongodb.org/) NoSQL database. MongoDB will be sponsoring food and drinks, so make sure to RSVP!
Abstract: MongoDB is a non-relational, document database that aims to hit a sweet spot of functionality and flexibility. This talk will explore MongoDB in hands-on fashion, using its convenient JavaScript shell and the PHP driver as our vehicles. We'll cover all of the MongoDB essentials necessary to develop an application, from the server and storage model to querying and indexing. In the latter half of the talk, we'll touch on features such as geospatial indexing, data aggregation, and GridFS (MongoDB's API for file storage).
Jeremy Mikola: Jeremy Mikola is a software engineer at MongoDB's NYC office. As a member of the driver and evangelism team, he helps develop the PHP driver and contributes to various OSS projects, such as Doctrine ODM, Symfony2 and Zend Framework. Previously, Jeremy helped build great things with Symfony2, MongoDB, and a handful of other interesting technologies at OpenSky and Exercise.com. Jeremy lives in Hoboken, NJ and is known to enjoy a good sandwich.
