Plus Friends London is for people who are HIV positive, or who have been affected by HIV.
The aim of the Group is to offer support and companionship in a social setting, for meeting like minded people in a relaxed & friendly atmosphere for drinks, dinners, theatre and other events. A great way to expand your social circle and meet new positive friends.
Founded in 2007, we are proud to be the first and largest independently run HIV positive social group in London. We are also sister group to Plus Friends Dublin, founded in 2012.
Group events are largely orientated toward gay men, however we hope that anyone living with HIV can feel the same welcome and openness if attending a Group event. Friends, Family and Partners are always very welcome and we are always open for new event ideas and volunteers to participate in help running the group.
If you are interested; first of all you will need to become a member of MeetUp and create a profile, then simply go to our group and click 'Join Us!'. Finally, your request will be reviewed by a group membership administrator. The group is free to join.
We request member applications contain a current portrait photograph of themselves as their main profile picture. Applications not 'in the spirit' of this request, may not be approved. To remain a member we request you also maintain this photograph.
You have the option of hiding your group membership from members of other groups. MeetUp provide help with editing your profile privacy settings.
We recommend downloading and using the MeetUp app:
• Although reminders for events are always automatically sent out by MeetUp - sometimes our members state that they have not been received.
• Alternatively you may have personally elected to unsubscribe from reminders with your own personal settings.
The MeetUp app is a very easy way to quickly browse events, without having to actively sign into Plus Friends every time via a desktop.
