Thanks for the offer to fix this but it turns out that it was a 
misunderstanding on my side and insufficient permissions for the account I was 
using.

Clay:
I had thought about it and once I went back (after trying a higher level Java 
lib via Jython) , I was able to get the restful_lib.py working so I did end up 
forking the old project - after trying to contact the original author two 
different ways.

Now that I have forked the project (about a week ago), I've already had an 
offer for help!
