You could probably save quite a bit of money by installing and using the open source "OpenOffice" as a temporary solution. ?They are basically free versions of the functionality that Microsoft Office suite provides.?http://www.openoffice.org/
In a jam you could provide access to Word Processing, Spreadsheets and such by using the various FREE cloud computing resources that are out there. ?Google Docs comes to mind as a very viable solution. ?There are others.

Rats! I typed out this great email and for some reason it didn't go thru...hate that. So here's the reconstructed.
First of all, welcome to all the new members, we are closing in fast on that 75 and we already have another assistant. JHR (you can ask her about the name when you meet her) offered to do that. So now Brian and JHR complete the leadership team. They are like my Riker and Data. When and IF we hit 100 I'll be looking for a Worf, lol!
Next, Tuesday we have movie night at Blue Ridge, $1.50 movie and $1 popcorn/drinks! In the meantime we need a host/hostess for the Marathon. I am checking out a venue (my livingrooom/family room will only comfortably seat 5), and will get back to you. Can you host this event? We bring the food, dvd's and the FUN!!! Contact JHR if you are interested.
Finally, I wouldn't ordinarily ask this, but here goes. The agency I work for, works with homeless families. Its a nonprofit with a tight budget. In meeting with a staff person yesterday (this is my 3rd week), I found out that some of the computers in the computer lab don't have microsoft or anything like it! They only have games....thats not acceptable to me, because the computers are to help folks with resumes, job hunting, and improving their computer literacy. Its also where the kids get help with homework when needed. We need some donated IT and of course software. The intern has a laptop that came over on the Mayflower. If you or your company can help with this, contact me and we can talk shop. Thanks a bunch!
