RE: [The-Raleigh-Star-Trek-Meetup-Group] Rank-

Ok could we drop any more New Generation lines in that last email...ha ha.  I mean "number one" refers to Riker and "Engage" from Picard.   I think we should just make it so and start everyone as an ensign (as long as I dont get the red shirt).

looking forward to Vegas anyone ?

Brian, I'd have to say I agree with you in PRINCIPLE but Claire is just talking about Meetup Titles.  It's a clever way to reward your long term members and contributors.  It plays into a Trekkie stereotype i guess that fans sit around and fall into rank structure like the show.  I wouldnt know really.  I think a strength of Claires is that she wouldnt allow a pecking order like that.   It's all in how you approach this "spirit of Meetup" thing.  Number One, anybody can form a fan group, getting people to engage with that Meetup philosophy is another.

huh huh huh , i said "engage" & "number one".

They have ranks in the World of Warcraft groups.

But those levels of rank have more to do with lack of proper showering.  :*)

I am not too sure about ranks in our group.Because I was with one Star Trek group and people put bragging rights higher they got up in ranks. So I would not like to see some one be at the top just because they reach commander.
