Intermediate Doubles 2.5 to 3.0 @ Lions Park

  • May 7, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • Lions Park Tennis Courts

Who is welcome?
Men and Women: 2.5 to 3.0
2.5: Modest consistency. This player is learning to judge where the ball is going, although court coverage is weak. Can sustain a short rally of slow pace with other players of the same ability.

6:30 Say hello, pay $3 fee and warmup on any open court (new balls provided)
6:40 I'll huddle everyone together, do introductions and get things started
8:30 Tennis Ends

Where are the courts?
Enter the Bennett street park entrance. Drive straight to bottom of hill to parking lot in front of courts.

What happens to the money I pay?
Your $3 event fee goes towards new balls, court reservations, liability insurance, and website fees.

How does the waiting list work?
Members on the waiting list receive an email whenever a Yes spot opens up. Whoever responds first gets in. This format is to cut down on the number of people that unknowingly get moved off the waiting list then don't show up.

What is your RSVP policy?
Your RSVP of "Yes" is a commitment and you are expected to show up.  If you no-show or change your RSVP very late, penalties may be levied. Please contribute to the success of each event by honoring your RSVP.

What is a No-Show
A person that RSVPs Yes, but doesn't show up or a person that drops out of an event within 4 hours of an event (some exceptions exist)

What isn't a No-Show
Absence when there is a huge chance of rain

What happens if I don't show up
If you've attended 5 or less events, you risk being removed from the group after picking up 2 no-shows. If you're a regular member, you will be banned for a month if you acquire 2 no-shows in 4 months. You will be banned for a year if you acquire 4 no-shows in 5 months.

What happens if I arrive late
If you arrive more than 10 minutes from the event start time you are not guaranteed to play. The organizer reserves the right to turn you away if your presence would make numbers odd.

Last night when I had just finished working I saw an email stating that I was supposed to be playing tennis. It really surprised me. And I responded by saying that I got done working late & that I could not make it. When I got home I looked through email and saw an email stating that I was to play. When I went to the website I was on the waiting list. Whatever! LOL! I will talk with you about this further when I see you on the court. Thanks for your quick response.

Hi Elaine, I'm showing that you were still on the Waiting List for tonight's event, but you're signed up as attending for events on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, next Tuesday and next Thursday. With your highly active participation, you're likely to receive numerous emails from us letting you know you're playing. Please do let me know if the email was in fact for tonight, or if the timing of it was the confusing part.

      Much thanks!

I appreciate all of the non-waitlist folks taking spots as they open. I'll have to keep my phone in my hand 24/7.

All Tuesdays bumped up to 8 courts (32 people). I hope this helps everyone get a spot.
