Announcing a new Meetup for The Rochester Hiking Meetup Group!

What: Genesee River Trail - Seneca Park south to Lower Falls Park and back

When: November 8,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Join us for a 5 mile hike along the Genesee River Trail. We hiked this same trail back at the end of June, now we'll have the nice fall foliage to look at along our way, and there are no hunters in the City! We will start at Seneca Park and cross the pedestrian bridge over the Genesee to Maplewood Park. We will follow the Genesee River Trail south through Maplewood Park under both the Veteran's Memorial Bridge and Driving Park Bridge, and we will pass by the Maplewood Park Rose Garden. We will end up at Lower Falls Park, where you can cross the river right above the RG&E dam, then turn back and return the way we came. This is a beautiful urban hike, 5 miles of paved and graveled trails through some of the nicest parks in Rochester that you never knew existed. It is a fairly level walk, without any real extremes in the way of elevation changes. There are some very nice views of the Genesee gorge along the way.

We will meet at Seneca Park. Follow the signs to the Zoo, but don't go all the way to the zoo. We will meet at the first parking lot on the right, just past the children's playground.

You can check out our last hike here at this link:
