What we're about

You have found the home of the Rochester Hiking Meetup Group. It is here to help people interested in hiking to hike and to meet each other. We're active all year long. What's more, we have many members who are crossover members from other local Meetup groups, so opportunities to investigate and enjoy other interests abound.

RHMG should not be confused with a walking group, but we have scheduled activities suitable for hikers of varying abilities. Be sure to check individual hike descriptions for information about the level of difficulty, and contact the hike leader with more specific questions about the pace and terrain.

Please note that we regretfully do not allow pets at our regular activities activities, but we do try to arrange one dog hike per month.

See you on the trail soon!

Hike with (or without) Your Dog, Meridian Center Park & Canal.

Saturday July 2, 10 a.m.

Please keep your replies up to date and limited to what you are able to attend.
You can remove yourself from being listed as GOING by clicking on EDIT RSVP and change it to NOT GOING.
If you are unable to attend an event and don’t change your hike response, it costs other hikers the opportunity to be on the hike.
Signing up for multiple hikes held at the same time produces the same result.
Thanks for your cooperation.

TO GO ON THIS HIKE YOU MUST BE ONE OF THE 50 PEOPLE LISTED.

Because of the present Covid conditions, facemasks are optional.

Saturday July 2, 10 a.m.
Easy/moderate 90 minute hike.
We will walk most of the trails in this small park with its uniquely framed boardwalks.
As all our regular hikes are no-pet events we are scheduling one of our occasional hike-with-your-dog outings at Meridian Center Park.
The hike is intended for, but not limited to, people who wish to bring their pets.
As always the rules of the county parks apply:
"All pets must be leashed and you are responsible for cleaning up after them." Therefore for this outing all dogs must be leashed while in the park and you must clean up after them!
For more information contact the hike leader Derek P. at[masked].

Directions:
(At the moment the map is showing the meeting place too far west and I am unable to correct it - it is actually immediately west of and beside the Evans/Fox Building.)
Meridian Center Boulevard is the first turn off Winton Road north of the Erie Canal. Go east on Meridian Center Boulevard and then left (south) into the business park. Take the first right for Building 100 (Allstate). Park behind this building and beside the park near the playground.

This is a Rochester Hiking Meetup Group hike. Hiking with either of our 2 groups, RHMG or Genesee Valley Hiking Club (GVHC) the hikes are free, but we do ask that you consider becoming a member for merely $10 a year. Membership dues help support administrative costs, the costs of the meetup site and rental of a lodge or other facility for a picnic or winter event. Please see,
