Yes I am running a short 2 to 3 session adventure based on the popular Walking Dead AMC TV show about life in a post-apocalyptic world with lots of flesh eating zombies roaming around. We will use the Savage Worlds RPG system which - no surprise - seems a perfect fit for genera. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savage_Worlds ).
The "survivors" will be starting from the New York tri-state area. This game, like the show, will have a fair amount of violence & grossness but like the program, what makes it interesting; is the people (players). So there will be role-play; this will not just be walking around shooting the dead. I have not run a "horror" inspired RPG in a long time so I have not idea how it will turn out; maybe we will all become "walkers" LOL. The Savage Worlds system has a lot of Zombie inspiration and is a fast play. My son Zack is able to create a character in about half an hour. I was hoping to start it this week but circumstances have conspired against it. So I am thinking of running the game on a Saturday or on the First Fridays starting in in June. All the sessions will be on the same day. Please email me at [address removed] if your interested and your preferences on game days. If we love it; I would consider anther mini-campaign or expanding the scope of this one. Besides being a fan of the Walking Dead TV show I have been looking for a reason try out the Savage Worlds RPG.
We play mostly 'table-top' Role-playing games weekly at our Friday night Open-Gaming. They include genres like; Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, anime, superheros, the high seas and science-fiction. Our group predates this site, so we have many of non-Meetup members who attend. We do have age restrictions for those 17 and under, please contact us for details.
