New Meetup: Call Senators Gillibrand and Schumer *RIGHT NOW* to Oppose Watered-Down Fed Bill

Announcing a new Meetup for Greater NYC Campaign for Liberty!

What: Call Senators Gillibrand and Schumer *RIGHT NOW* to Oppose Watered-Down Fed Bill

When: October 21,[masked]:30 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

The big guns have lined up against the ?Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009? (S.604), the bill that authorizes the Government Accountability Office to fully audit the Federal Reserve and its inflationary monetary policies.

Senator Merkley (D- OR) and Senator Corker (R-TN) introduced a watered down version today of S.604 deceptively named the ?Federal Reserve Accountability Act.?

It is similar to the Kucinich bill in the House. This legislative subterfuge restricts the audit to emergency lending programs, which prevents Americans from learning anything about the destructive monetary policies that led to an artificial economic boom and subsequent bust, massive bank bailouts, foreclosures and millions of Americans losing their jobs.

Call your two Senators tomorrow at their DC office and tell them that WE WILL NOT ACCEPT A COMPROMISE on S.604.
Talking points:

? It is not enough to examine the aftermath of the crisis last fall; we need to examine the causes of it!

? The Federal Reserve?s monetary policies must be accessible to the GAO ? a nonpartisan, independent agency who mission is to ensure that federal agencies are meeting their Congressional mandates lawfully, effectively and efficiently.

? Congress gave the Federal Reserve the mandate of furnishing the country with a flexible currency, which expands and contracts in accordance with the economy, stabilizes interest rates and maximizes employment. The Federal Reserve has failed to meet its mandates given that the dollar has lost 95% of its value since the Fed was created, interest rates have been as high as 20% and near 0% and unemployment in some estimates is in the double digits.

*It is imperative that you call senators Schumer and Gillibrand and let them
know that we will not accept anything less than S604*
