We are changing things up a bit this month at RVA.JS. February is Parent & Child night with a hands on presentation teaching kids how to code in JavaScript!! Ages 6-13 are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian.

Why don't our schools teach one of the most important literacy skills of the modern economy? And what are we going to do about it? Learn what CodeVA, Virginia's K-12 Computer Science advocacy and teacher training organization, already is doing about bringing computer science to every Virginia classroom -- and learn what you can do to help the effort.

This kid-friendly program includes a fun coding and crafting activity for elementary and middle school-age kids during the presentation. Bring your laptop and be ready for some parent/kid fun as CodeVA's Eureka Workshop shares some great resources to get your kids excited about coding.
