EAGLE ROCK / TOPANGA EARTH DAY PARTY - LIVE BANDS! GREAT FOOD! ARTS AND CRAFTS!

The hike meanders thru oak trees and winding trails, around several rock formations approx 5.2 MILES roundtrip past Eagle Rock. 800 Ft elevation gain. GREAT for beginners. We'll stop on top of Eagle rock for at least a half hour to rest / relax / snack and check out a couple small caves.

Should take AROUND 3 hours AT A RELAXED PACE.

We'll leave at 11:15 sharp

DIRECTIONS:
From the Ventura Freeway (101), exit at Topanga Canyon Boulevard, drive south over the crest of the mountains and proceed three miles to Entrada Road (not Entrado!) and turn left. Keep to the left at every opportunity until you reach the park's main parking lot (about one mile)


From Pacific Coast Highway, travel north on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, pass the post office at the center of "town," then turn right on Entrada Road. Keep to the left at every opportunity until you reach the park's main parking lot (about one mile
).

Parking is $10.00 (exact change) in Park. There is some street parking (free) outside of the park on the road.

Bring at least 1 qt of water

Sorry, no dogs allowed as this is a state park

    Parking - outside the park there is room along the road for about 10 cars at the most. Others not with the hiking club will also be parking there. In fact by 11am they will be taken. Given that 110 people signed up for this, and to help keep the day going smooth, you should plan on parking in the parking lot in the park.

    Party/Festival at Topanga Community House Fair Grounds. After the hike, everyone will have to drive, walk, hitch-hike etc over to the Festival.

      - No need to print any tickets.
      - $10 charge is for parking inside the gate at Topanga State Park. Pay the Ranger $10.00 as you go through the gate. Or park for free on the road outside of the park.
