RUSTIC CANYON 5 MILE HIKE - DINNER AT REEL INN - TOPANGA BEACH SUNSET - ETC ETC!

Details

  1. SCENIC 5 MILE HIKE

difficulty... hmmm... lets say "medium with easy portions"

*********************

It crosses a scout camp and a couple COOL OLD buildings

with an interesting history

THE LAST HALF MILE OF THE HIKE REQUIRES

STREAM CROSSINGS

( only a few inches deep, but you MIGHT get a "hot-foot" )

AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF POISON OAK

should take approx 3 hours and change

*******************************************

SINCE IT'S TIME CHANGE... the hike OFFICIALLY starts at 1PM

which is NOON if you're TOO LAZY to change your clocks

( sunset at 7PM YAY!!! )

PARKING is at Will Rodgers State Park...

there is also a SMALL overflow parking just outside the park

Overflow parking outside the park is VERY limited... so expect to park IN the park... it's $12 now (we're helping keep our State Parks open!!!)

The rains wore away part of the trail, and the brush is somewhat overgrown in places. It's VERY do-able, and actually MORE SCENIC than I remember (see photos / link below) but I'd have to give it a semi-easy / ranging to moderate and slightly difficult in a couple places rating
