The hike meanders thru oak trees and winding trails, around several rock formations approx 5.2 MILES roundtrip past Eagle Rock. 750 Ft elevation gain. GREAT for beginners. We'll stop on top of Eagle rock for at least a half hour to rest / relax / snack and check out a couple small caves. Should take AROUND 3 hours AT A RELAXED PACE.

This is my first hike so any tips you can offer would be appreciated. What should I bring for food and are running shoes good enough footwear for this hike?
    Thanks

I got a ticket last year from the Mounties for parking on the street. $66. I think too many peeps for this one.

Just an FYI: parking is tough. The lot costs $10, although I don't think there will be a guard at the gate. You leave your money at a little station. You can park outside the park on the street, but with 90 people rsvp'd as yes, it will get over run.

Miss you all! I'll be on my way up or down Gorgonio! (Probably down!) Distance comparable to Whitney, but 1/2 the elevation gain!
