Play 5 @ Speekeasy Leicester

Section 31 meets every week in the Speekeasy gaming bar from 5:30pm-11pm, to play a variety of Boardgames and Cardgames with fellow gamers.

We've got a large selection of games that we like to bring to each event, including some old and new favourites, but we're also keen for our members to introduce us to new games that we might not have played before. These include games like Settlers of Catan, Magic the Gathering, Arkham Horror, Fluxx, Battlestar Galactica, Dixit and The Climbers.

This group caters for both seasoned Boardgamers and newer or less experienced players. Our aim is to get more people playing boardgames and to this end we'll happily teach you how to play any games you don't know. All we ask is that you just turn up and be prepared to have some fun.

Our Featured Game for this event is: Play 5, which is a boardgame for 2-4 players, which challenges players to use a Scrabble-like board on which to place an array of tiles that represent a Texas Hold-em Poker Hand. The challenge is to put down a minimum of 2 tiles at a time, whilst trying to finish off your opponent's winning moves and ultimately being the one to finish with no remaining tiles in their hand. A fun game for both Scrabble and Poker fans.
