Sunday Saunter: The BAckside of Mt Burdell

I've had requests for Sunday Saunters, and since football season is over :-(

Here we go...

Always wanted to check out the backside of Burdell? Been meaning to get there, but keep forgetting the vino? Say no more - here's your opportunity, not just to scope it out, but to do it w/ the merry madcappers in this grp! Don't even think of telling me you don't just love the idea. Remember what Vadar said, "Resistance is futile".

Well then, that settles it - Burdell it is. We'll hike, we'll picnic/potluck, we'll vino, we'll relax, we'll chat, we'll enjoy.

All the usual suspects will be there, and all the usual rules apply. Rule #1 Chill, Rule #2 Have Fun, Rule #3 Pass The Vino!

Wondering where the vino fields are in Novato? Well, that's easy. The Usual Suspects will be bringing the vino into the fields of Mt Burdell for a fun filled afternoon of socalising in the sun!

This will be about a 5-6 mile hike w/ about a 250' elevation gain w/ plenty of time to kick back in the fields and meadows. The rating is easy to moderate depending on your condition. This should be easy for most people.

What to Bring:

Vino and cups

Good Hiking Boots/shoes

Layered clothing, sunscreen and hat

Snacks/vino and cups

FOOD, and more food (cut up sandwiches, wraps, meats/cheeses/sourdough/crackers, salads, dried fruit/nuts, chips, dips, deserts, use your imagination.)

At least 1 liter of water (2 is better) Chill overnight then top w/ ice in the a.m.

Anything else you want to drink (ice tea, juice, beer, etc.)

$5 activity fee

Directions:

Hwy 101 to Novato off at San Marin Dr.

Head West on San Marin approx. 2 miles and turn Right on San Andreas Dr.

Follow San Andreas to the top and park in the residential area. We'll jump on the trail there.
