Re: [shakespeare-50] Titus Andronicus recap, and: possible move to Saturdays?

Saturdays do work for me almost as well as Sundays, so it is not a problem for me.

One possible place to meet on Sundays is the Wayward Coffeehouse ( They used to be in Greenwood, but a fire in the business next door damaged their space  - now they are moving to a new location on Roosevelt and NE 65th (by the Whole Foods), and are expecting to re-open sometime this month. I met there for NaNoWriMo events and sci fi readings last year, and they are open late into the evening. It was a bit of a geek environment, but the staff were fantastic. I can check into it if Sunday is a better day for folks. I haven't seen their new space yet.

It's always fun to read Titus Andronicus when some of the participants don't know the story (or at least all the gory details) - there are some pretty interesting surprises in there! We had a good discussion afterwards as well - comparing the play to Othello and talking about some movies of Shakespeare plays in modern settings.

Kristina (the owner of Inner Chapters) has asked us if we would mind moving our readings to Saturdays. Sundays are usually her days off and while she doesn't mind opening on Sundays for groups, she really wants at least 10 people there to make it worth her while (we've been averaging 6-8 attendees). Saturdays would work better for her as the shop is open then anyway (and she said she wouldn't mind staying open late for us if we aren't finished by 4pm when the shop usually closes).

How would you all feel about this change? Are you a regular Sunday reader who wouldn't be able to make Saturdays? Or somebody who really wants to come, can't make it on Sundays but could make it on Saturdays? If so, please let me know. Inner Chapters is otherwise such a great location - I'd rather change the day than give it up, all else being equal. As long as there isn't too much dissension from the ranks about this plan, I'll schedule a meetup for Saturday, November 6th to read "The Tempest".
