Our presenter for this evening, Dr Julia Lim, is a raw foods and yoga teacher (https://mysolworks.wordpress.com (https://mysolworks.wordpress.com/)), psychologist and social entrepreneur (www.straitswholefoods.com (http://www.straitswholefoods.com/)).
First, Dr Julia will share the pragmatically and comprehensive approach of ecological change undertaken by the Masarang Foundation ( http://www.masarang.nl/en/ ) in Borneo led by Dr Willie Smits. The foundation works to save rainforests and wildlife e.g. orangutans and turtles who face extinction due to deforestation and other forms of human encroachment.
Wearing her social entrepreneur hat, Julia will explain how her company, Straits Wholefoods supports the work of the Masarang Foundation through selling the forest sugar is made from the amazing arenga forest tree with the lowest carbon footprint process.
Next, Julia will demonstrate how to use the low glycemic forest sugar and other ingredients to make 3 really delicious vegan ice creams and sorbets that you can easily replicate at home. And you will get to sample all the creations.
