Mohonk Preserve - Hike or Walk.....

UPDATE!! I'm opening this up so everyone can go, but PARKING is going to be interesting.....carpooling will help that a LOT, as well as finding each other. Let's spend a lovely day at Mohonk. We will meet at the Visitors Center and go from there....I'm hoping to do some good hiking, others will want to do carriageways and a more gentle experience. Whatever your pleasure, bring lunch and we can enjoy the company of friends in a wonderful place. Bring your camera!!!!!!

We will travel 11 miles afterwards to Elsie's Place in Wallkill for our afterwardsing. We have a reservation for 20 as I'm guessing many will just do Mohonk and go home, but a good bunch will continue our tradition of dining afterwards. A Mohonk day pass is $10 per person, Meetup fee of $1, bad weather changes things so stay tuned. Do check your email the night before for sure!! If I don't have your cell please send it. New members please note the attendance policy for no-shows and last minute backerouters. :-)

Carpool from Bed Bath & Beyond in Newburgh at 9am. Please don't be late. Put Carpool in your RSVP. Additional carpooling from Stop & Shop in New Paltz, 9:45 in the upper area to the right of the entrance from the light on 209, put your carpool place in your RSVP. If you're late you'll have to go alone, sorry!!!

To reach the Visitor Center, take the New Paltz exit 18 off of the NYS Thruway. Go 7 miles west (through New Paltz) on Route 299 to the end: make right on Route 44-55 and then 1/2 mile to the Visitor Center on right. If that lot is full, continue a few hundred yards farther up hill to the entrance to additional, overflow parking lots at the Visitor Center.
