The Sun Do practice starts with stretchings and self-massages to induce relaxation and focus in body and mind.

At the beginning of the practice, you will be instructed how to do Sun Do Breathing and the precise location of the energy center "Danjeon" where you are supposed to focus on throughout the whole practice session.

The goal of the practice is to take in the cosmic life force "Ki" into our body through breathing. All exercises are focused on taking in and culitivating the Ki in our body centering on Danjeon.

The Practice Routine

1. Warming-Up Exercise (20Min) - Relaxation and focusing
This preparatory warming-up exercise consists of series of stretching exercises to relieve tensions, stiffness, and acquire balance of our body structure. Through this exercise the students will be able to enhance the flow of Ki and blood through out the body. Also, students are able to achieve full relaxation with focused mind ready for the next main Danjeon Breathing phase.

2. Main Breathing Practice (40Min) - Serial Movements with Lower Abdominal Energy Center "Danjeon" Breathing
This main practice consists of different serial postures to accumulate the Ki using Sun Do Breathing method in order to take in the Ki. Through the practice, the Ki is accumulated in Danjeon, which is located at the center of our lower abdomen. The practitioner is eventually able to circulate the accumulated Ki energy through the meridian routes of the body.

3. Wrapping-Up Exercise (20Min) - Ki Stretchings for Rejuvenation and Transformation of Body and Mind
After the main practice, using special serial postures, stretchings and workouts, the practitioner learns how to send the accumulated Ki to each part of the body and internal organs in order to stimulate and strengthen each part of our body and its function.

The Benefits of Sun Do Breathing

The practitioner becomes more clearly aware of his/her own physical and mental condition. Focusing one?s mind and achieving relaxation of emotional tensions become easier. As the breathing becomes deeper, slower, smoother, the mind becomes calmer, stronger and more focused. The body becomes more flexible as the flows of Ki enhanced through the meridian routes of the body. The specific serial postures, which enhance the flow of ki, restore distorted ki flows, open the blocked routes, and rejuvenate stressed tissues and muscles.

Since this practice enables the students to take in more oxygen, the body metabolism will be enhanced significantly and it helps weight control, especially burning body fat and carbon during breathing process which in turn producing life energy "Ki".

The practice will help blood circulation. As a result, recovering from physical fatigue and stress becomes easier.

This practice also known to help reducing obesity, high blood pressure, diabeties, and high cholesterol levels.

The digestive function is also enhanced because the intestines are stimulated with deep abdominal breathing focused on Danjeon. As the function of digestion and excretion are enhanced, the skin becomes clearer and healthier.

The following are the most frequent reports from the beginners:

√ Sleeping better and deeper
√ Experiencing more focused and clear mind
