Tonight's event is in partnership with the Tech Futures Group. They will answer questions about getting government funding and resources for your startup.

Chuck Eason

As a Director of a Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Manager of a Business Incubator, and past Business Broker, Charles has provided training and counseling to thousands entrepreneurs over the past twenty years.
Charles has seventeen years of experience assisting businesses with securing Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding. This includes direct experience through his company OPTEMA Development Corporation which developed a rapid prototyping technology with funding through a National Science Foundation STTR Phase I, Phase II, and Phase IICC grant.
Charles is currently the Director of the Solano College SBDCwhere he manages a team of 23 business advisors. He also serves as the SBIR/STTR specialist for the Northern California SBDC Tech Futures Group.
Prior to his current position, Charles was Associate Director of the California Community College’s Statewide Economic Development Network. Before moving to Northern California, Charles worked for the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center as Manager of the Inland Empire Business Incubator. Charles also worked in the defense industry as a systems engineer for TRW’s Ballistic Missile Program.
Charles earned a B.S. in Engineering Sciences from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from California State University, San Bernardino.

Gerry Baranano

Gerry is the Director of the Tech Futures Group. He was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for companies ranging in size from Fortune 100 to startups and was instrumental in positioning and closing the sale of Xros, a telecommunications startup for $2.2 billion.
Gerry brings a comprehensive understanding of all the elements necessary to start a successful technology company from his experience as founder and CEO of several startup companies. He has hands-on experience in launching products and services in the telecommunications, computer manufacturing, software, hardware, and green/clean tech industries.
Today, as principal of The RevLaunch Company, Gerry consults for high technology companies and the R&D divisions of the world’s largest corporations in the area of business development, technology commercialization strategy, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies. Clients include FujiFilm, Fujitsu, NTT-AT, and smaller companies offering embedded software products, open-source software, and hardware products.
Prior, Gerry was VP Sales at Nortel Networks. Earlier in this career, Gerry held positions in a variety of disciplines including sales, finance, and operations in companies that included AT&T, US WEST, and Univision.
Gerry earned a B.A. from Yale University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

She likes to help those who need help the most and has been helping many start-ups moving to the next level.

Don Daglow
