I am excited to announce the next SWUGNYC Meeting will be back in Brooklyn, hosted by our new friends at HUGE in DUMBO.

This is going to be a great meeting with three great guest speakers:

Digital Fabrication Specialist Arthur Young-Spivey presents "The Art of 3D Scanning.” Taking an item from the analog world and making it digital one, requires a few tips and tricks, knowledge of which technology to use, and selecting the best translation software to help bring it your downstream application. Be it first article inspection, reverse engineering, or as a reference to build new geometry around the end goal of this presentation is to bring attendees through the various methods needed to achieve these results.

Val Angelov is a Project Manager at Lighting Services Inc., a graduate of The Cooper Union Engineering, a Certified SolidWorks Professional and the co-founder of SWUGNYC. He will demonstrate a mixture of solid and surface modeling techniques to create the organic shapes required to duplicate a 1955 Arnott Climax Sport Trunk Hinge.

Elisha Wilson from Rapid Sheet Metal will be presenting "Reduce Sheet Metal Costs by Designing for Manufacturing." She will demonstrate cost-saving tips and tricks for designing and manufacturing sheet metal parts.

We will also take some time for an "Ask the Experts" session and leave time for socializing.

Refreshments will be provided as well as giveaways from our friends at SWUGN (http://www.swugn.org/) and the RAPID GROUP (http://www.therapidgroup.com/).
