"Sexy Evolution or What the Pope Does Not Know About Human Sexuality" - Darrel Ray

He is the author of the book The God Virus: How Religion Affects Our Lives and Culture. Ray is founder of the organization "Recovering Religionists", a national self-help group for those leaving their religious indoctrination. In May 2011, he published the survey Sex and Secularism: What Happens When You Leave Religion?

Sexy Evolution or What the Pope Does Not Know About Human Sexuality.Synopsis; Each species has a unique reproductive strategy. Human sexuality is different from other species but not so different that other species don't share key strategies. Even those strategies that are "most human" are shared by other species. Unfortunately, the Pope's view of sexuality almost opposite of what we are really like. As a result the Pope would have us acting like animals rather than humans. Come learn the difference between human sexuality and religious sexuality. This is based on material from Chapter 10 of Sex and God.

Darrel's books will be available on the night for $16 and he will attend a short signing after the talk.

Please note: There will be a $5 minimum donation per person to Sydney Atheists INC to attend this meeting to cover costs.

There will be an additional meetup posted for a post talk dinner at a nearby restaurant, please RSVP to that meetup if you are going to that at least 3 days in prior. Darrel will most likely be attending with us if you would like to talk to him afterwards.

Location: http://lostoncampus.com.au/878 If you come into UTS via the main entrance off of Broadway, you will see the campus security office on your right, to the far left are lifts and stairs, if you take the lift or stairs down one level to level 3, at the bottom of the stairs you go left, follow the corridor, and you will come to a smaller set of stairs, the room is diagonally left of the bottom of the stairs. (around the corner to the interfaith rooms funnily enough). If you get lost go back to the security office and ask for directions.
Unfortunately UTS doesn't have a campus map online or available on site, so you will need to follow the nomenclature of the room which is here; http://www.fmu.uts.edu.au/campus/room-id.html If you come into the main entrance you will see security on your right that will be able to direct you to the room, there should be signs over near the main stairs going down to level 3.
