We have organised a very special lineup to celebrate, with three awesome guest speakers....

Teenagers tackle food wastage with their app FoodSafe!!

From the classroom to Tesco & the House of Commons, a team of A-Level students have been on an unexpected and exciting journey with the app they created for a school enterprise project.

A group of 15 students at Norwich School came up with the app foodsafe to try to tackle the huge problem of food wastage. This has currently led to talks with Tesco and a meeting with the environmental minister in the House of Commons.

The app allows people to scan in items of food and type in the name of the food and the use by date in order for an alert to appear of their phone reminding them that the food is almost at its use by date. Therefore reducing food wastage.

The sixth-formers will share their story, why they came up with the idea, how they made it a reality, and the ups and downs of their exciting journey @foodsafe_food

GrowthAccelerator and E-Synergy: Investment Options for Startups

Tom Kristensen, from E-Synergy, a VC Fund in London, will be joining us to talk about GrowthAccelerator, the government programme which supports SMEs. Tom focuses on helping companies access finance from a wide variety of sources including angels, VCs and crowdfunding. You will find out how you can take advantage of this fantastic programme.

E-Synergy are experts in seed finance and venture capital, currently managing five active investment funds which will invest up to £30 million in new businesses during the next 4 years.

Startup Story: 99Squared - Kuoob

Innovative Norfolk Startup 99SQUARED is pioneering next generation developments in the application of ‘three dimensional’ QR coding, that have already found their way onto the catwalk in New York, to keep busy fashionistas up to date with a rolling programme of events.

Pip Cartwright @pipcart & Johannes Ahrenfelt @ahrenfelt , founder's of Norwich Future 50 Startup 99Squared, will share their story about their cool advertising platform using QRCodes to deliver location and consumer-preferences-based advertising. Kuoob delivers the highly targeted offers to the right individuals in the right place at the right time on any device, empowering consumers to engage with ecommerce using mobile technology.

The 99Squared team will talk about their journey from identifying a market opportunity, to producing a technical solution and the challenges of introducing their Kuoob platform to the world.
