Post-meeting Pub Night

  • May 14, 2013 · 9:00 PM
  • This location is no longer available

Traditionally, after the meeting we head to a local bar for refreshments.

In the recent past, we'd get around 20-25 people to a meeting, with about 15-20 joining us at Shoeless Joe's. We'd just show up without a reservation, and they'd handle us, albeit a bit slowly.

Since this meeting's attendance looks to be about twice as big as usual, we'd like to get a handle on how many plan to join the post-meeting fun. If it's significantly more than usual, we'll try to make a reservation.

Please reply, and let us know if you have a suggestion for a bar or pub near Metro Hall that could accomodate us. Thanks.

Good selection of beers, but it was just too cramped and noisy for us. Unless there's a better idea for the next meeting, I think it's back to Shoeless Joe's.

Like trying to hold a dinner party in a nicely paneled elevator - but damn the beer was good.

The food was good, the beer selection was amazing, and the service was top notch. It was a tad noisy, but on the whole I think that balanced it out. So, I'm fine with either venue for next time.

Good idea. Yelp seems to like it.

We'll see how the RSVP numbers stack up, and decide from there.

    There's a push for a place that doesn't charge 14$ for 3
Chicken fingers and has decent beer available. We were thinking town crier? We could easily take over the upstairs and a call before hand would even probably allow us to reserve it. Also it makes for smaller groups which could foster more discussion rather than long shouts tables. Town crier is at John and Adelaide so it's roughly equidistant.

    Yep, that's the plan.

As you mentioned, Shoeless has been working well for us. They always seem to have space, whether they have staff is another thing. But, I think we should give them the first shot if the numbers are significant.
