What we're about
Tacow is Toronto's largest and longest-running organization of iOS and Mac developers.
Pronounced "taco", the Toronto Area Cocoa and WebObjects Developers Group is the first international chapter of CocoaHeads (http://www.cocoaheads.org/ca/TorontoOntario/index.html). After a road trip to Chicago to see how the veterans at CAWUG (http://groups.google.com/group/cawug) do it, Karl Moskowski (@kolpanic (http://twitter.com/kolpanic)) and David LeBer (@rebeld (http://twitter.com/rebeld)) held the first meeting in April, 2006.
In September, 2016, hosting duties were assumed by:
Robin Senior (@senior (http://twitter.com/senior)), iOS lead at Shopify (http://shopify.com/careers)
Paddy O'Brien (@tapi (http://twitter.com/tapi)), iOS developer at theScore (http://www.thescoreesports.com/)
In March 2018, Paddy moved to Winnipeg and we added two new hosts: Alex Christodoulou and Paul Fangcheng Huang, both iOS developers at Connected Lab.
We meet at various tech companies around Toronto. Each meeting usually starts with pizza and introductions around the room, followed by a featured speaker or two. Then we adjourn to a local pub for less formal discussion. If you're interested, we maintain a list of past speakers and topics (https://github.com/robinsenior/tacow/blob/master/Meetings.md).
Members are free to post to our mailing list. However, we ask that you abide by our posting guidelines (http://www.meetup.com/tacow-org/pages/Posting_Guidelines/).
