Meet fellow Pythonistas. Learn about the Python programming language. Share your experiences with Python and how it has helped you. Have fun! All are possible as a member of the Central Ohio Python User's Group.

Austin Godber will be talking about leveraging AWS with Python.

Amazon provides an Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) set of products know as Amazon Web Services. These services include the following features:

EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) - Dynamically launch and manage virtual machines S3 (Simple Storage Service) - Store and retrieve files over HTTP SNS (Simple Notification Service) - Send email or webhook based notifications SQS (Simple Queue Service) - Send messages through a global queue RDS (Relational Database Service) - Managed MySQL Service Austin will describe the basics of these services and how to interact with them using the Python Boto library (http://boto.cloudhackers.com/).

This will be an introductory level talk targeted to those who are new to AWS and interacting with it programmatically. More advanced features will be addressed at a future date.
