Hiking - Forrestal & Portuguese Bend Trails

Let's hike off those holiday calories! This hike will be approx. 6 - 7 miles and includes many hills with expected cumulative elevation gains to EXCEED 1,700+ feet.

Meet up time is 7:45am. The trails are "exposed". Therefore, TO AVOID THE HEAT, we'll need to start promptly: either as soon as everyone who has RSVP'd is present or NLT 8:00am ~ whichever is sooner.

There are a few very steep sections, so good hiking shoes are a must and hiking poles might come in handy!

Expected hiking time, with a couple of stops for picture taking, snacks & water breaks is anywhere between 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the group.

Please bring water (chilled or with ice) for drinking, hat and sun glasses for sun protection and snacks for yourself or to share among the group. The ocean views on this hike are simply amazing!

BTW ~ If you have a smartphone, apps such as MapMyHike or RunKeeper may come in handy to help keep track of the path we take during the hike.
