Soul Motion™: Begin Again
with Jovinna

Sat October 8, 2011
7:15 – 9:30pm

Soul Motion™ is a popular transformational dance practice on the West Coast and there are not many people certified in it on the east coast! Jovinna will be traveling all the way from Massachusetts to facilitate this transofrmational dance practice for us; so take advantage of this rare, wonderful opportunity! :-)

Dance Theater Workshop
219 W 19th Street(bet 7th & 8th Ave) 3rd Floor

Dance is an intimate union of body, mind, heart, and soul. Each of us has a unique way of expressing the body’s movement and creative energy. This expression of dance is the result of being present and absorbed in each moment. Soul Motion, a conscious dance practice, creates the space for the dancers to practice the art of paying attention as they navigate the inner landscape and the outer landscape. This is an awareness practice in motion. Cultivate your presence as you move through solo, duet and community dance. In this workshop, we’ll come together to begin again on the journey of self-discovering through dance. No dance experience required.

I met Jovinna last year while she was teaching an improvisational Soul Movement Sanctuary Dance at Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. Jovinna is a phenomenal dance facilitator! She gives such powerful, loving, gentle guidance that supports participants in finding their own deepest authentic dance. Being a facilitator myself, I noticed and loved the careful selection and timing of verbal cues she gave to help people find their own movement and flow! The music she played gave me a full body dance and eargasm! :-) ~ Trinity
