Regional Weekend Camping Trip - Carolina Beach State Park

Details
Let's go on another camping trip to Carolina Beach! We have been before in the fall and spring and it's great fun.
Carolina Beach State Park is about 2 hours 45 minutes from Durham - 9 miles from Wilmington. I will go on May 10 and stay 3 nights - returning Monday afternoon (if you prefer you can plan to stay only 1 night or 2).
It's not too early to make your reservation and get planning for what is sure to be a fun trip! This should be a really nice time weather-wise to be on the coast. Carolina Beach SP hosts a secluded camping area beneath towering trees, and miles of hiking trails that traverse a variety of distinct habitats--not to mention the presence of the Venus flytrap, one of the world's most unique carnivorous plants--it's no wonder Carolina Beach State Park is a popular coastal attraction. The park camping amenities include restrooms with showers, water spigots throughout the campsites (not one at each site), but no electric hookup. If you are interested in taking a day trip out of the park, the gates close at 9pm. This means you would also need to arrive Friday before 9pm! [:)] http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/cabe/main.php
Meals will be on your own with the exception of a vegan potluck on Saturday for dinner at Campsite 20.
During the day Saturday and Sunday those who wish can get together for hiking or other activities. This area is also pretty bike friendly. Feel free to bring games, stories or what have you and we can hang out around a campfire in the evenings (bring wood or cash to pitch in to buy wood).
Kids, friendly and leashed dogs as well as discreet adult beverages are welcome on the trip. You are responsible for knowing and following the regulations of the park as listed on their website: http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/cabe/rules.php. You are also responsible for your own safety as well as any children or dogs in your party.
Please post in your RSVP which campsite you have booked - it would be more fun if we are close together. Member Cherry and I are at campsite number 20. Campsites are $20 a night. There is room for 2 small to medium sized tents at each site, so please post if you want to try to share with another to split the cost.

PS - There is no swimming inside this park. Just wanted to be clear on that. Of course there is swimming at nearby beaches. And before Memorial Day they allow dogs on the beach.
