It is with sadness I announce that the Fiction Kitchen vegan brunch has been canceled going forward. But the good news is that it's so they can focus on opening a restaurant!! See message from Caroline below:
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made The Fiction Kitchen brunches such a success. It is with a touch of sadness buoyed by great excitement that we have decided to end the brunches as we focus our energy on our business plan for our... vegetarian/vegan restaurant.
Your support and dedication has proved the need and demand for innovative, delicious, adventurous and thoughtfully presented vegan food and we are committed to continuing to feed our fans.
To those who stood patiently in line on Sundays waiting for the doors to The Pinhook to open, we raise a glass and humbly request your patience again as we embark on our journey to establish a permanent space for this amazing community we have together created. To that end, we’ll be hosting a series of fundraisers in the coming months as we get our business plan for our vegetarian/vegan restaurant off the ground. We’ve truly enjoyed the past 20 months and can’t wait to one day invite you to our restaurant.
While we will miss seeing you all on a monthly basis, we invite you to continue following us on Facebook, Twitter (@FictionKitchen), www.thefictionkitchen.com as well as various other media (we’ll be on the Mystery Roach radio show on 88.1FM WKNC at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21).
Shout-outs to The Pinhook (www.thepinhook.com), Crumb (www.justcrumb.com), MEZ (www.mezdurham.com), bartender and friend extraordinaire Heather McEntire; raptuous runner and photographer Carolyn Davis, greeter and bell-ringer Carol Jenkins, the all-around-awesome Ken Hampton and all others who helped us to make Sundays fundays! Thanks also to Big Boss and Isaac Hunter’s Tavern for hosting our Raleigh brunches.
We’d love to pass the Sunday vegan brunch torch to anyone who is interested in continuing the tradition. Contact us and we’ll share our experience with you.
And for those of you who have Fiction Kitchen coupons, hold onto them. They never expire!
