New Meetup: Tabling FOR the Animals at Ag Week

Announcing a new Meetup for Triangle Vegetarian & Vegan Meetup!

What: Tabling FOR the Animals at Ag Week

When: March 17,[masked]:00 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Meetup Description: Hello, Veg Meetup people! Here is another opportunity to create a little balance and spread the word about veg*nism and campaign for the animals. Brandon has offered to act as contact person (thanks!) so this is an official meetup! Info below came from Loren and Brandon - please contact them if you have questions! You can go out for as much or as little time as you have available - even just on your lunch break!

From Loren:
From March 16-19, the North Carolina State University agriculture fraternity will host Agriculture Awareness Week. Ag Week will be held in the center of the NCSU campus (that is, "the Brickyard"). Many of the activities will promote factory farming.

In an effort to encourage respect for farmed animals, a group of about ten of us (so far) plan to table, leaflet, and hold signs in our permitted location in the Brickyard from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. We campaigned in a similar fashion last year, with results that we were quite happy with.

So far, our team consists of NCSU undergraduate and graduate students, an NCSU alum, and members of Humane Carolina and the Carolina Vegan Association. The are many time slots to fill, and much to be done. In other words, we need help. Please consider joining us. Advocates of all experience levels are welcome. You will be able to take on whatever role interests you, even if that means just hanging out.

There are several parking options on campus. We can recommend the Dan Allen Parking Deck at 110 Dan Allen Dr. In addition to the preceding Google Maps link, you can also see the Dan Allen Parking Deck on this campus map (on the far left).

Finally, here is a slideshow of some of the signs we've been using lately, and a slideshow of us "signing" at UNC in front of the main dining hall earlier in the semester.

Hope you can join us for this fun and highly effective advocacy!

Contact Loren ([address removed] / 919.265.9985.) or Brandon for questions [masked] / [address removed])!
