Searching for a needle in a haystack [Aleksander Pejčić - Celtra]

Personalisation of user content on the web is increasingly becoming more and more important. One of the most important steps that content publishers can take, is to personalise content based on current user location. Current solutions for quickly searching though millions of POIs (points of interest) are few and far between.

This talk will present an overview of data structures, algorithms and open source solutions available for finding closest POIs to a given location in real time. Part of the talk will also be dedicated to the solution that Celtra implemented for its ad serving business.

About the presenter:

Aleksander Pejčić is a seasoned engineer currently working for Celtra where he was tasked to create a scalable real-time geolocation component of Celtra's flagship ad serving platform. Alexander is no stranger to mission critical software, before joining Celtra he was building mobile payment solutions for the Slovenian banking software powerhouse Halcom d.d.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
