Behind the Scenes of Billion Mobile App Downloads [Luka Renko, Outfit7]

Talking Tom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talking_Tom_and_Friends) looks like a simple and fun mobile app but not many are aware of the important ingredients required for building a candidate for global success. We'll look into the technical challenges of bringing interactive 3D characters to life in the form of a mobile app. We will look how animation and sound processing evolved in time and what are the challenges with handling various devices.

About the presenter:
Luka Renko (http://www.linkedin.com/in/lukarenko) is VP of Technology at Outfit7 (http://outfit7.com/), leading the Ekipa2 R&D team in Ljubljana. He got into the entertainment industry by chance, primarily due to the interest in the technical challenges behind the success of Talking Tom. Before joining Outfit7 he was leading SW development of document management/collaboration product at Marg, backup & recovery and data archiving products for various leading vendors at HERMES SoftLab. He was also an active community member in Ubuntu and KDE open-source communities.
