Search is ubiquitous. As we navigate the vast content available online, we rely on search. We express what we are looking for on sites such as Google, Twitter, Amazon and Airbnb. What is common across these sites is that they all attempt to return results that are most relevant to the user's intent. This talk will cover what makes search across these sites different and use Airbnb as an example to show how marketplace search is complex.
Surabhi Gupta is an engineering manager leading the Search & Discovery team at Airbnb.
