What we’re about
Something wonderful happens when you stop consuming misery and violence!
Yes, you’ll most likely feel better physically, but that’s nothing compared to the feeling of intentionally living your values of responsibility and compassion.
Check out our Discussions Page to enjoy and share your favorite recipes!

Veganism is not about judgment or personal perfection; it’s about doing what we can to reduce suffering in the world. Empowered by compassion, we CAN make a positive difference 3 times a day ~ while we defend health, protect the planet, and save lives!

Sign Up for our monthly recipe email.
Why vegan?
In America, ten billion land animals are killed for food every year, and over 98% of meat comes from factory farms.
No one denies that factory farms are a nightmare.
Those who speak of “humane meat" are referring to the living conditions of animals; they do not account for the fear they experience when betrayed, their terror during shipping, or the horrors of their slaughter.
When it comes to dairy:
Most vegetarians don't realize that there is far more animal suffering in a cheese omelet than there is in any steak. Most people are unaware of the cycle of violence (rape, confinement, kidnapping, and infanticide) that is the standard industry practice required to steal the breast milk and eggs of another species.
Sadly, it’s not just the farmed animals that suffer from our animal-based diets. Animal agriculture is a leading cause of habitat loss, wildlife depletion, and mass extinction worldwide.... not to mention the decline of human health. The proteins in animal-derived dairy cause as much cancer as smoking cigarettes; and fat and cholesterol in animal products is the major contributor to heart disease, our nation’s number one killer.

Now that you know why eating a plant-strong diet might be for you, you might want to know how to do it.
Vegans Rock Montana can help you find like-minded friends in your community - and check out our Discussions Page to enjoy and share your favorite recipes!

The Great News:
It's easier than ever to go veg.
Every grocery store you’ve ever been in has an enormous vegan section…
(it’s called the produce department!)
But seriously, in Livingston and Bozeman, we are SO lucky to have soooo many fabulous organic and vegan items at great prices, at Town and Country Foods.
The Live and Let Livingston Potluck meets at 4:30pm on the Second Sunday of every month at the Park County Senior Center. We share DELICIOUS FOOD, vegan cookbooks, recipes, information, and have a 5-minute food demo at 4:45pm. Plates, silverware, napkins, cups, coffee, and tea are provided at our potluck. Each month there is an (optional) fun theme, and usually 4-5 dozen people attend. There are often several gluten-free and raw options, along with traditional favorites, and of course… cupcakes!

** All who choose kindness are welcome; families, tourists, animal lovers, and the veg-curious. **
BRING A FRIEND, and a 100% plant-sourced dish free of flesh, fishes, eggs, animal-derived dairy, and honey.
For the benefit of those with allergies, attendees are asked to bring their recipe or a list of all ingredients used.
The theme is always optional, and those who don't want to cook can bring something to drink.

The 3 Minute Movie Challenge is a unique way for members of the public to learn standard practices of the animal agriculture industry. They are invited to view a 3 minute movie in exchange for a vegan treat. 🍪🎞️ Please join us for this impactful form of advocacy. ✊🤘
We'll have a little training in the beginning to make sure we all know our roles and how it works. 🤓
EVENT RUNDOWN:
We will set up our table with computers (please let me know if you can bring yours, thank you! I'll have a battery to charge them all, make sure to bring your charger). 😊🔌💻
Here's the footage to download if you are bringing your computer: Video to download before the eventWe'll set up on the path and next to the entrance of Peets Hill/Burke park! 🏞️If you need help finding us, feel free to call me at 406-551-5652🧭📍📞
We'll have signs reading "Win free food for watching a 3 min video". The interested passersby will watch a 3 minute excerpt from "Dominion" 🎞️before having a conversation with one of us, then they'll be given their reward as well (vegan candy/cookies and discount vouchers). 🍪🍬If you're too nervous about having outreach conversations, don't hesitate to come and hold the signs, take pictures or even just observe how it goes! 👀📷🪧
If someone is up to film the outreach (with my phone and a mic I can provide) that'd be super helpful as well. 🤳 You don't have to talk to people if you don't feel ready yet. 😎🤝At 8, we'll have a little debrief.✌️
HOW TO GET READY:
Signs and resource cards to hand out will be provided.
Please wear dark blue or black if possible. 🔵⚫️
Please DO NOT wear: animal products, clothing representing other animal rights organizations, or items of clothing that give away that we are vegans or an animal rights group. 😆😅You might benefit from bringing a water bottle as well. 🥤
