We've been an active group promoting vegetarianism in Austin since the early 90s. We've decided to start a meetup group for our organization to make it easier for new people to find out about our group and it's activities, and for our current members to interact with each other.
We typically have two meetings each month, a potluck dinner held at one of our members' homes, and a restaurant visit for lunch or dinner a a local vegetarian or vegan establishment, or at least one with a vegetarian-friendly atmosphere and menu.
You don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to attend our events, but we ask that you bring a vegan dish to our potlucks and order vegetarian at our restaurant visits.
Visit our website at http://www.vegnetaustin.org for more information about who we are and what we do!
Counter Culture, a raw and vegan food trailer owned by VNA member Sue Davis, will be screening "Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days" on Tue. Dec. 1st at 6:30pm. There will be a special all-raw-food menu available from 5:30pm until 7pm. One of our own members, Natala Constantine, will be speaking briefly about her experience with reversing diabetes by going vegan. Rip Esselstyn is slated to be there as well. Read more
