March potluck! with elections, Austin Beyond Coal, and Progressive Potluckers!
Details
Please join us for our regular monthly potluck for March. We're very relaxed and informal, and we welcome everyone, including families, children, new vegetarians and vegans, and the "veg-curious". Our potlucks are free for anyone to attend, you don't have to be a VNA member.
Please bring a VEGAN dish that can serve 8 plus a serving utensil, as well as your own plate, utensils, and beverage. Also bring your recipe or a list of ingredients to help those with food sensitivities.
This potluck will also serve as our annual membership meeting for elections and voting on changes to our bylaws. If you are a dues-paying member of the VNA, please try to attend as we want your vote to count! If you'd like to join the VNA to participate in the direction of the VNA and help support our future endeavors, you can join online at http://vegnetaustin.org/join.html
Our special program for the evening will be a presentation from Ryan Rittenhouse of Greenpeace. They're promoting a Sierra Club campaign called "Austin Beyond Coal" to bring pressure on the city council to shift towards 100% clean energy. Ryan will speak about why we need to switch from dirty coal to 100% clean energy, and the need to phase out the dirty Fayette coal plant.
We'll also be hosting the Austin Progressive Potluckers with us, so it'll be a well-attended event you don't want to miss! Come enjoy some great vegan food, meet up with old and new friends, and learn about what we can do to improve Austin's energy future!
