beyond self thought, to joy, to bliss, to realization and to peace.
The sincere dancer is one of the best workers for universal harmony,
and so for universal peace.”

      Community Sing/ Agape Chants

Friday April 11th  7:00-9:00 pm with Arif, Amina and Lisa.
Unity of Central Massachusetts 21 Cedar Street, Worcester, MA

Discover divine Unity and peace through Kirtans, Songs of Peace and other World Chants.

Singing is one of the most essential elements of worship. Short songs, repeated again and again, give it a meditative character. Using just a few words they express a basic reality of faith, quickly grasped by the mind. As the words are sung over many times, this reality gradually penetrates the whole being. Meditative singing thus becomes a way of listening to God. It allows everyone to take part in a time of prayer together and to remain together in attentive waiting on God, without having to fix the length of time too exactly.  Quote from Taize website.
"A night of heart felt  chanting can change the world "Ram  Dass

Come taste the experience of joining together in songs of peace, love and harmony.

Part  of the Friday Night Spiritual Practice Cycle at UCCM-

Sunday   April  20th 6:30-8 pm  - With Lisa and Nina and Arif and Amina   at Nina and Mike's new studio at 205 School Street, Gardner MA.

Here is a Quote from Krishna Das describing Kirtan -
"The words of these chants are called the divine names and they come from a place that's deeper than our hearts and our thoughts, deeper than the mind. And so as we sing them they turn us towards ourselves, into ourselves. They bring us in, and as we offer ourselves into the experience, the experience changes us. These chants have no meaning other than the experience that we have by doing them. They come from the Hindu tradition, but it's not about being a Hindu, or believing anything in advance. It's just about doing it, and experiencing. Nothing to join, you just sit down and sing."

               April 22 is Earth Day!

Join us in doing something big or something small. To celebrate; To thank and honor our Mother Earth for her abundance and love: To share a "new" story of our Inter-Beingness!

This we know... the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to earth. All things are connected, like blood which connects one family. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life - he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.
