Oak Park Walk
Details
Joe Steffen will lead a 2.5 hour, 3.7 mile walk through Oak Park (http://www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org/pages/917.html) past about 20 Frank Lloyd Wright (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Lloyd_Wright) designed buildings, Ernest Hemingway's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Hemingway) birthplace, and other historic mansions and parks, following this route (http://www.walkjogrun.net/routes/current_route.cfm?rid=7F6E3D28-BBE8-E6E5-85954B044C5C5D37). If you've read the book Loving Frank (http://www.amazon.com/Loving-Frank-Novel-Nancy-Horan/dp/0345495004/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1304963392&sr=1-1), we will be going past the Edward Cheney house (http://www.steinerag.com/flw/Artifact%20Pages/PhotoWrightPortraitsC.htm). This is a walk, not a tour. I will stop a few times to briefly talk about what you will be seeing, but I will not be stopping in front of each Frank Lloyd Wright house and describing it in detail. We will walk even if it is raining, so bring an umbrella or poncho. Please do not bring your dog.
Afterwards, you can tour the Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio (http://flwright.org/visit/homeandstudio) ($17), or visit the Hemingway Museum and tour his birthplace house (http://www.ehfop.org/) ($15).

If you have a smart phone and are good with maps, touching the meet up location shows a map with a pinpoint on the exact location. Touching the phrase “following this route" shows the route map so you can try to find us if you are late. From the meet up location, walk east on Lake St. and north on Forest Ave.
