Apologies for the mass e-mail to everyone in the group.? I just wanted to thank everyone who was able to make it to the Slingshot Hip Hop meetup Friday night.? It was a really awesome turnout, and the movie was not only very enjoyable but spawned a lot of interesting discussion afterward.
On that note, I am also very sad that it was my last meetup.? I've truly enjoyed being a part of this meetup group for the past year and a half, first as a participant and then as an assistant organizer.? The most rewarding thing for me was to see, meetup after meetup, an environment where everyone was welcome, and where native Arabic speakers and people who knew only five words all felt comfortable interacting and forming friendships.? I think that this group is really something special, and I hope that it continues to go strong and grow into the future.
I will be headed to Egypt this summer and then Boston for grad school in the fall, but I would love to keep in touch with everyone, either in English or my most perfectly mutilated Arabic.? Feel free to e-mail me any time.
