It's time to get serious about electing Democrats! We've been talking for months, and now it's time to get out there among our neighbors and help turn Orange County blue -- or at least purple!
This month, instead of our evening meeting, we'll meet and learn about helping in our neighborhoods. The most active campaign right here is Steve Young's campaign. Here's an invitation from Marion Pack, Steve Young's campaign manager:
This will be an organizing meeting for Steve's City Captains, Precinct Leaders/Volunteers or anyone who wants to join Steve's campaign. We invite organizers and volunteers working on other campaigns which overlay the 48th District to attend also. Coordinating campaigns through good precinct organizing floats all our candidates boats! Together we can make 08 a winning year for all Democrats!
So, if you are supporting a candidate in this part of Orange County, you'll want to attend this meeting. And, if you want to support our presidential candidate, helping to organize your neighborhood to get out the vote in both June and November is the best way to do that.It's a Primary Preview!
What's the difference between Props 98 and 99? It's important, and you need to know before you send in your ballot or vote on June 3rd. Even though our Democratic candidates, Steve Young for Congress, Ginny Mayer for State Senate, and Mike Glover for State Assembly are running unopposed, it's important to vote for them. Learn why. We'll invite as many candidates as possible to give short presentations, so you can fill out your ballot with confidence. There's no better place to learn how you can help get out the Democratic vote in Orange County than our meetup at Steve Young's campaign office, which is a continuing beehive of activity, so come and bring a friend or two.
What about food? I'll be bringing fruit, a veggie tray, cheese, crackers and cookies. Please bring a drink or two of your choice. And speaking of food, please bring a generous donation of non-perishable food or money for the Food Bank. I bought rice, beans, corn and cereal today at Costco. Remember, we may all be tightening our belts, but there are people in Orange County who don't have money for food.
By June, we'll surely know which of our two superlative candidates will be the Democratic choice. November will be here before we know it, and it's what we learn at meetups like these that will prepare us to win up and down the ballot in November.
