OC Singles who Mingle 45+

Hey Hey!! Welcome to OC Singles who Mingle 45+!! Thank you for checking us out! Please note that this is a private and exclusive social group for meeting people and new friends in-person and face to face and NOT a Dating Site. Being single doesn't mean you have to be alone, nor looking for a romantic partner.

We are a group of like-minded individuals who want to get out and do stuff with others who may have the same interests or learn new ones. Let's meet and hang out with other fun peeps.

But please, NO CREEPY vibes, Stalking or hook-ups. Also, please keep any drama and gossip OUTSIDE of this group.

Because we are a private and exclusive group, we are selective with which "Requests to Join" are accepted and will remove those members who we later decide are not a good fit for various reasons and also those who are not actively attending events. Unlike some groups who only care about the size of the group, we care about quality over quantity.

We are a Brand New Group of fun adults, on average in their mid 40s thru 60s, who enjoy mingling together while making new quality friendships and enjoying social activities and events like:

Bike Riding, Tactical Training, Hiking, Walking, Axe Throwing, Karaoke, Dining Out, Happy Hour, Comedy Clubs, Road Trips, Int'l & Domestic Travel, Potlucks, House Parties, Get Togethers and anything else that looks like fun. It’s limitless. We don't just "say"... we "do". If you’re interested in hosting an event, let me know! Yay!!

Our goal is to create and build a solid group of hopefully close friends, like a second family maybe, that you look forward to seeing again and again at the next event. We want you to feel like this group is your home and that you are welcomed and fit right in.

We want you smiling, laughing and having a great time and a great experience at whatever event of ours that you choose to attend! You'll notice that we not only have a LOT of events per week, but various kinds because we happen to LOVE variety! Please feel free to give me suggestions and let's see what we can come up with. Hey, this is the second half of our lives - let's enjoy it, together! Life is short!

We care about honest, respectful, loyal, trustworthy quality people. We want to create a safe space for everyone, especially for those who desire it. If there is ever an issue, please private message me.

♥ Jenny ♥

A few housekeeping items:

*All members must have a clear, CURRENT and recognizable picture (i.e. no pics from your younger years in high school/college, memes, cartoons, pets, kids, landscapes etc. You know who you are) so that we can identify you at events. Those without one are subject to removal from the group.

*Strict Zero Tolerance Policy: We ask that you actively and enthusiastically participate in our events, especially with the time, efforts and occasionally additional monies that it takes for us to put an event together. We ask that you respect all organizers, hosts, and attendees. This includes honoring your RSVPs and letting us know if you can’t make it as soon as you are aware. Those who have 3+ "no show" or frequently RSVP and then cancel will be subject to removal.

*Active Member Requirement: You must ATTEND a minimum of one (1) event per quarter. RSVPing for an event (incl. those in the far future) and then not attending does NOT count as being an active member. You must have attended a min. of 1 event with the current quarter. Frequent cancellations and No-Shows are subject to removal from the group.

*We ask that you do not contact (private message) members you haven’t met in real life. Exceptions include inquiring about group events with the prospective hosts and organizers.

*Keep in mind that this is NOT a dating group, altho it may happen if you meet and there is a mutual connection. If things work out, great!! But if it doesn't, please keep any drama outside.

How to Heal from Narcissistic Abuse

Lake Forest, CA

How to Heal from Narcissistic Abuse

Have you been in a narcissistic relationship? Or think you might still be in one?

In this group we’ll be giving free webinars on healing from narcissistic abuse and creating a healthy, truly loving relationship.

In this group you can learn:

- How to fully heal from an abusive narcissistic relationship—and it doesn’t have to take long!
- Why it’s sometimes difficult to get out of a narcissistic, toxic relationship
- How to attract the right partner for a lasting, truly loving relationship
- Less commonly known traits of a toxic, narcissistic personality that you need to know!
- Why people sometimes seem to “inherit” a narcissistic personality
- Why some people are narcissistic personality magnets!

People around a toxic, narcissistic personality feel constantly anxious—like they’re treading on eggshells. Their self-esteem, confidence in themselves and certainty about things plummets. They can feel like they’re on a roller-coaster—feeling happy one moment, then depressed the next. An abusive narcissistic personality can suck a person down a spiral of self-negation that’s hard to break out of, even after the relationship is over.

In the webinars we’ll be giving, you’ll learn why you can become trapped into a narcissistic relationship, and how to fully recover from one. Best of all, using the techniques we’ll show you, your recovery can be quick!

This group is sponsored by South Coast Mission Dianetics & Scientology Self-Improvement Center.

Finding Female Friends Past Fifty - Orange County (FFF>F OC)

Huntington Beach, CA

Finding Female Friends Past Fifty - Orange County (FFF>F OC)

***GROUP IS CLOSED AND NOT ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS ***

Finding Female Friends Past Fifty Orange County (FFF>F OC) is a group of seasoned, interesting, and supportive women 50-ish (mostly between 40’s - 60’s). If you're looking for friends in Orange County, you've found the right place! Many women find ourselves at this age without the social connections we yearn for, and finding friends in our age group can be a challenge. This is exactly why the New York Times article about FFF>F below went viral:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/31/style/self-care/finding-female-friends-over-50-meetup.html

If you join our group with an open heart, sense of adventure, and fun spirit, you may find that even after a few events, you will begin to make connections and form friendships.

Please live in Orange County, we are currently NOT APPROVING requests to join from non-OC residents. And some events will give waitlist priority to OC residents for those non-OC residents already in the group.

We may from time to time pause approvals for OC resident requests for membership as well, so those in the group can get to know each other. If new requests come from someone with very few other groups or RSVPS, we may hold on your acceptance because it looks like a fake account.

***WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS ***

We reserve the right to not approve, and remove members, and potential members for any undisclosed reason, including what’s stated in our guidelines below.

Please take a moment to review our guidelines prior to your request to join:

MEETUP PROFILE: Our group is growing quickly and it is important for us to be able to connect and communicate with our members. And as a group of women, we are sensitive to being able to know who we are communicating with, as well as being able to recognize you and call you by name at our events. As a result, we require a few specific items regarding your Meetup profile:

Name: We require that you use your actual first name. You do not have to enter a last name, but your first name needs to be what you are addressed by. Profile names that appear to be obscuring identity will not be approved.

Profile: We require a close-up photo that shows your face, head and shoulders with no obscuring elements like sunglasses, a low hat or a mask. Please check your profile picture before you request membership. If your picture does not meet requirements, your request will not be approved. If you need help updating your picture, click here: https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002878591-How-do-I-change-my-profile-photo

Notifications: As a member, it is essential that you have your Email Updates and Push Notifications turned on in Settings both on your desktop computer and your phone app. It is also necessary to check back frequently in the days before a scheduled event in case there are any changes or if confirmation is requested. If you need help changing your settings, you can use the following links: Turn on Email Notifications: https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002879591-Editing-my-email-settings Turn on Push Notifications: https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002862972-Editing-my-push-notification-settings. PLEASE NOTE: If we are not able to reach you when needed, you may be removed from the group.

ATTENDANCE: Attendance and punctuality are vital for us to create an environment where friendships can flourish; please note that we take attendance seriously. If you are unsure if you can make it to an event, please do not sign up; instead, wait to see if there is room last minute. Not following the guidelines below can result in removal from future events and/or from the group.

Tardiness: It is important to be respectful of everyone's time, including restaurant staff, event staff, and event organizers who often plan in advance to ensure our group can be accommodated, etc. Please plan ahead to ensure you arrive on time. Excessive tardiness of over 10 minutes may result in you being removed from future events, and/or from the group.

RSVPs: As our group expands, we typically have several ladies on the waitlist for our events. We ask that if you need to change your RSVP, you do so no later than 48 hours prior to the event. This will provide members on the waitlist some notice that they are able to go to the event and allow them to adjust their plans accordingly. We understand that life happens and sometimes there are last-minute changes; however, multiple sudden drop-outs with less than 48 hours notice may result in you being marked as a “No Show” (see below).
No-Shows: A lot of work and coordination goes into planning an event, and part of what makes events fun is having everyone show up! All event coordinators can be reached via message or email through the Meetup app. If you are signed up for an event and you do not attend, you will be marked as "No Show". If this occurs with no communication from you, you may be removed from future events and/or removed from the group.

Waitlists: As our group grows, so do our waitlists. To be fair to some newer members who are never able to get on the "going" list, we may from time to time hold a space or two specifically for new members to be able to join and add them by increasing the number going. Or, if an event is full, and a member or two cancel, we may also add members who are not necessarily new, but are not on other "going" lists, instead of someone next in line on the waitlist, who is already going to other events that week/month and we can give preference to OC residents. This is to try to be more fair to our members. Also, if there are last minute (less than 48 hour) cancellations, we may move those on the waitlist to "not going" and allow whoever is able to go to sign up. Most people already have made other plans 48 hours before an event, so this has been one of the best ways to fill the space and cause hosts less stress when there is a last minute cancellation.
Event Fee Requirements: You may find that some of our events require an event fee to be paid within a certain amount of time. If you are not able to make the payment within the allocated amount of time, you will be moved to “Not Going” to the event. If you RSVP for multiple fee-required events and have a track record of not paying within the allocated amount of time, the event organizer can move you to “Not Going” at their discretion without giving you the allocated amount of time to pay.

ATTITUDE: We pride ourselves in creating a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for our members. We are here to have fun and enjoy our time together. As such, the following behaviors are not allowed, and we reserve the right to remove anyone from the group, without warning or communication for violating these expectations, and distracting us from being able to form real friendships.
~ Controversial topics, such as politics, religion, or anything that could offend another member.

~ Negativity: Our time together is reserved for uplifting and supporting each other. So please come with a positive attitude and leave any negativity at home.

~ Complaining: A lot of time and effort goes into planning an event, and working with the venue for a group of any size is not always easy. Please be a gracious guest and don’t complain about where the table is, how slow the service is, getting separate checks etc. Taking it upon yourself to speak to a manager of a venue to address anything is not tolerated.

~ Drama: We are grown women; drama in any form is unnecessary and will not be tolerated.

~ Bad Behavior: If we receive multiple complaints about a member or an organizer notices something, it's usually a red flag for behavior that is not friend-worthy. Examples include: if you sign up for every event, then cancel later, if you sign up for an event with another group on the same day and time as our event, if you are demanding with the organizers or waitstaff, if you are aggressive or confrontational in approach, if you don't properly pay for your portion of your meal, if you try to go around the normal protocols for signing up for an event to try to get around the waitlist, or anything that causes complaints about you.
~ Business/Networking: Please leave your work hat at home. We are here to make friends, and not be sold to or recruited.
Please remember, you are trying to make a good impression on women who may become your BFF's, other members and organizers notice your behavior, so please act appropriately.
If you are sincerely looking for Female Friends past Fifty and these guidelines align with your personal values, please join us!

We are looking forward to meeting you!

The Sunshine Gals

Orange, CA

The Sunshine Gals

The Sunshine Gals is a social group of fun-loving and whimsical Gals who celebrate life with a positive outlook and sunny disposition...and lots of love and laughter. We enjoy dining out, movies, the arts, home & garden tours, tea parties, potlucks, plays & performances, day trips, and much more. We're always open to new experiences and adventures.

Since our beginning in 2009, The Sunshine Gals have attracted some of the kindest & most compassionate ladies around. Many who have made lifelong friends! Each of our Sunshine Gals brings something special to our group. We are proud to be a society of unique women from all walks of life. The common bond that Sunshine Gals have is the desire to surround ourselves with joyful, authentic people who have a zest for life and a great sense of humor. Our group spreads sunshine wherever we go!

The Sunshine Gals is my gift to you. Since moving out of Orange County to Palm Springs, I, Candy, have stepped down as the sole organizer and the group is now run by Doris Stephens who has volunteered to be Co Organizer and Event Organizer. Contact her if you would like to be one of our Event Hosts and to host an event. This is a great way to plan something that YOU would like to do. You will have access to our calendar and can host events any time you wish. I will always be a part of our group as founder. Kimberly is co-organizer in name only. She is kind enough to sponsor our group onto her account in order for us to remain free of paying any dues. THANK YOU KIMBERLY!

I would like to send a special thank you to Doris for continuing to keep our group active by being our loyal event and co organizer. We all thank you for your commitment and love for our group. The success of this group is because of her dedication and involvement. We all thank you!

All of our events are completely voluntary. Only YES RSVP's are ever needed, but PLEASE UPDATE your RSVP if your plans change, and cannot attend after all.

NO SHOW POLICY: Members who RSVP "Yes" for an event need to change their RSVP to "No" if their plans change and they cannot attend the event. Upon the 4th no show, a member will be removed from the group. This is just one example of why RSVPs should be tendered with positive intentions on attending and cancelled if plans have changed. Some upcoming events require exact counts at least 24 hours prior to the event and the penalty for falling short of this will cost the Organizer an out of pocket expense for no shows from the venue we have reserved space for. Thank you for understanding.

Our group colors are yellow and pink. You will find many of the Gals wearing our colors to make us easier to spot at our events and to show our Sunshine Gals spirit. We welcome you to show your spirit too... it adds to the fun and whimsy of our group. Wearing just one yellow/pink accessory counts! It's completely optional!

I am very proud of the enthusiasm of our group and with its growth and progress. I am grateful for the positive and genuine women who continue to make The Sunshine Gals what it is today... BEAUTIFUL.

Hugs,
Candy G.

Sunrise to Sunset Hikers

Mission Viejo, CA

Sunrise to Sunset Hikers

While this group is primarily focused on hiking, we also enjoy other forms of outdoor fun such as canoeing, biking, kayaking, camping and backpacking.... and a variety of special events including concerts, beach parties, museum, garden, art and holiday walks.

Our success is based in part on our ability to increase the fun factor of outdoor events, often including a social activity such as picnics that include food and beverage. Our organizers also design conditioning hikes that are intended to enhance aerobic fitness and endurance. Our group has peaked virtually all the major mountains in Southern California, including Mt. Whitney. We strive to offer the most fun and scenic outdoor activities available to residents of Orange County.... events that are both in and out of area.

Our group is diverse, including young/middle/senior ages, singles and couples, and a mix of people with differing racial/ethnic/cultural/religious/political backgrounds. The unity of the Sunset Hikes Meetup centers on our shared love of fun, outdoor activities.

We do NOT ask for donations to support our administrative costs or charitable pursuits, however we do ask that you actively and enthusiastically participate in our events. So come on out! Make new friends, get some exercise, and enjoy the great outdoors. We are all about having fun!

Check out the "Our Calendar" tab for a schedule of upcoming activities. We look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon....

We welcome you to the Sunrise to Sunset Hiking family!

How to Stop Living in the Past

Lake Forest, CA

How to Stop Living in the Past

Can’t let go of painful memories?

Brooding over past events?

Or is nostalgia keeping you from enjoying the present?

There are specific reasons why you can find yourself constantly stuck in the past and unable to enjoy the present to its fullest, or create your future. In this group we will be giving free webinars on how to stop living in the past.

We’ll show you the mechanism that keeps you stuck in emotions, feelings and thoughts of the past. And we’ll show you how to free yourself of your past so that it becomes exactly that: the past! You should be able to look at memories without negative emotions clouding your present. You should be able to revisit your memories at will, not have them dominate your thoughts and life.

Typical events that stick people in their past include:

- Bad breakups or divorce
- Betrayals
- Physical and mental trauma
- Severe illness, accidents
- Loss of job, business or position
- Rejection
- Deaths
- Stressful life events
- Abuse

These events can squash your ability to enjoy life and reach your goals. They can seem to change your personality to become someone that is more timid, insecure, mistrustful, angry or unhappy than before. You don’t have to live life like this; you can find out how in our webinars.

IS NOSTALGIA HOLDING YOU BACK?
Does your past seem more pleasant than the present? Are you constantly thinking about the “good old times”?

Having pleasant memories is part of the pay of life. It only becomes a problem if you feel you can’t move out of the past into the present and enjoy what life can offer you now. Maybe life now seems too difficult to deal with, or you feel all the good times are behind you and the future can’t offer you the same. If you want to start enjoying life and creating your future again, this group is for you!

Disneyland Magical Meet Ups!

Anaheim, CA

Disneyland Magical Meet Ups!

This group is for anyone who has ever thought “I want to go to a Disneyland/ California Adventure, but I don’t have anyone to go with!” Well, now you do! We will utilize this space to facilitate community among Disney fans by coordinating meet-ups for park days, plus events such as: the upcoming Oogie Boogie’s Bash, after-dark events, Dapper Day, Adventureland Day, etc. We're always in need of help, either here or in our corresponding Facebook Group, please message me or one of our co-organziers!

How it Works!:

- For events with multiple dates I will create upcoming events for each date, and you RSVP for the date you have tickets for or hope to attend!

-For events with a single date I'll create one upcoming event and suggest possible activities, places to meet, itineraries, etc.

-This group will be primarily driven by members! That means: use the comment section to propose events, offer to be the host for proposed events (like days at the parks), suggest ideas, etc. You can also reach out to me. I'm located in SoCal but not Anaheim so I'm in need of additional organizers and mods! I will initially monitor the comment section to see what people are suggesting and we'll go from there. The more people who help lead this group the more efficient and fun this group will be!

-This group is related to Disneyland, California Adventureland, Downtown Disney, and public Disney/Disney-related events (D23, for example) only. For everyone's safety/security/comfort when mingling with new people, I think it'd be best to keep our meet-ups in public spaces. Please don't propose ideas to the group that involve going to anyone's homes or private spaces- they will NOT be made official events and I will take down these comments. If I see you doing this more than once I will block you. If you make friends at the parks and want to hang out, awesome possum, simply exchange contact info and arrange that away from this page, please! Thank you! :-)

-Please, no: racism, sexism, ageism, ableism etc. - basically, no discrimination of any kind, it will absolutely not be tolerated! This group is welcome to everyone! Harassment of any kind will also not be tolerated. If you have concerns, please let me or another organizer (as we gain more) know right away. Also, if you see something, please say something! Let's also shy away from discussing politics or other divisive topics as a group, this just simply isn't the place for that.

How to Overcome Broken Relationships

Lake Forest, CA

How to Overcome Broken Relationships

Welcome! This group is for people who are experiencing or have experienced failed relationships, breakups or divorce and for those who feel like they just can't have or build a healthy, successful relationship. We will be giving free webinars weekly to help you heal from these experiences and to be able to move forward in your life without the emotional pain. We’ll also be giving tools and solutions on how to successfully pick the right person for a relationship and what the key ingredients to a healthy, long lasting relationship are.

The emotional pain accumulated from a divorce, breakups and failed relationships can continue to affect you for for years unless something effective is done to heal that emotional pain. A stressful breakup or divorce can leave you devastated, resentful, or anxious that the same situation will occur again. It can also trigger many other painful emotions, such as grief, anger, resentment, low self-esteem and a hard time trusting others. It can make it very difficult to move forward with a new relationship or can make you feel like a successful relationship isn't possible.

The good news is that there is a way to heal the emotional pain and put you back on the road to being able to have a successful new relationship. There are effective and simple solutions that work and we can tell you about these through our free, online events.

In our webinars, you can learn why a breakup can be so devastating and take so long to get over; and learn how to actually get over it and be able to start a new relationship.

We can show you how to make the stressful experiences become a thing of the past and not continuously affect your present state-of-mind and view of yourself or a current relationship.

This group is sponsored by South Coast Mission, Dianetics & Scientology Self-Improvement Center.

OC Girlfriend Circles

Irvine, CA

OC Girlfriend Circles

Are You Interested In:

• Making meaningful friendships?

• Learning new skills to improve the friendships you have?

• Meeting women who share your desire for healthy friendships?

• Making real connections with women who are also looking for the same?

We are looking for:

• Women of all ages (21 to 101), in all stages of life who are seeking to find, create and build friendships.

• Women who want to improve their friendship skills.

• Women who are willing to be responsible for their behaviors and be respectful of others.

Who we are:

Our group was founded in August 2014. We are a Women's Friendship group based on the concepts and principles in 2 books by Shasta Nelson.

In "Friendships Don't Just Happen" we learn about the 5 Types or Circles of Friendships that we have in our lives and how to strengthen those circles so that we have friends in all areas of our life.

In "Frientimacy" we learn that there are 3 requirements to every friendship: Consistency, Positivity and Vulnerability. The book goes into depth about each of these, how to develop them, and how to know which might be missing in your friendships.

We use these teachings by requiring consistency and commitment from our members. You can't get to know people deep enough to develop and strengthen your friendship if you don't see them regularly. Statistics tell us that it takes 7 interactions with one person to really start building friendship. We keep our group numbers small, less than 50, to help improve the chances that you'll see the same people over and over again.

We are NOT just about the fun events or finding someone to do something with you. We are very focused on our connections and for this reason there is always a time for connecting at every event. This is the crucial component of our activities. I understand that finding events you enjoy is important and we all LOVE to do fun stuff while creating memories and strengthening our bond but if the fun event is all you're looking for we aren't the right fit for you, there are LOTS of other Meetups for that.

We are open, warm and friendly.

My Southern upbringing tends to shine through and I will go out of my way to make you feel welcome and included as will the rest of the group members.
