The then Prime Minister Tony Blair decided in 1999 that 50% of young people should go to university.
Since then, the cost of an average degree has soared to over £9K, with more and more young people getting into debt before they've started their careers.
And with ever greater numbers of people with degrees, is it still a competitive advantage or just an economic millstone?
Is university education worth it, or is the greater use of apprenticeships the way forward?
