What is the workshop about?
What do you do when the other side attacks your argument? Being able to make a good argument is only half the battle. Rebuttal is what makes a debate a debate!
And so, this Wednesday evening, 19th Aug., is your chance to learn one of the most important skills in debating, at our online debate workshop on Effective Rebuttal.
You’ll learn how to:
- Use the 3 key questions
- Prioritise the points that matter most
- Respond clearly and persuasively under pressure
- Turn rebuttal into an opportunity to strengthen your own case
The first half will cover the essential theory. The second half will be an extensive practical session, giving you the chance to apply the techniques in real time.
As some of you know, last year I wrote The Really Practical Guide to Debating, collecting in book form 34 years of debating experience. I will be joined by President of The Online Debaters, Andrew McDonald and President of 104 London Debaters, Victoria Love, to present this practical and useful workshop on a key debating technique.
